Everything is fine, the Row Editing event raises but the Rowupdating Event does not fire. The Row Editing event loads the page and the page loads the Usercontrol again now the gridview is in edit Mode but the Grid View Row Updating event is not fired when the update button is clicked. In this tutorial I will show you how you can create an editable Grid View control for administrators to modify database records directly into the Grid View control.Editing the Grid View control can be an incredibly easy feature to add for certain database tables, especially those who have no foreign key associated and can easily be edited through the use of a standard Text Box web control as shown in the figure below: 1.You need to include the Grid View Command Field column to add Edit, Update and Cancel Buttons in the Grid View. You need to include Template Field for every column you want to provide Editing because Template Field provides you both Item Template and Edit Item Template to create interface for two separate Grid View modes. You need to handle Grid View events such as Row Editing, Row Canceling Edit and Row Updating to provide desired editing functionality.Font-Names="Verdana" Font-Size="10" Data Key Names="Product ID" Auto Generate Columns="false" onrowcancelingedit="Grid View1_Row Canceling Edit" onrowediting="Grid View1_Row Editing" onrowupdating="Grid View1_Row Updating"In the above code, I set two properties Show Edit Button and Show Cancel Button of Command Field.I removed everything I did with View State and edited the original post again with what I currently got. I cannot sort the Grid View because I'm trying to sort with Your code doesn't have Data Source ID. The Gridview events such as Row Editing, Row Updating are added. The User Control will be loaded dynamically in a Placeholder-Control on aspx.

This enables you to provide an event-handling method that performs a custom routine, such as canceling the edit operation, whenever this event occurs.
A Grid View Edit Event Args object is passed to the event-handling method, which enables you to determine the index of the current row and to indicate that the edit operation should be canceled.
Find Control("Text Box1"))); All this coded thing is not working.
event is raised when a row's Edit button is clicked, but before the Grid View control enters edit mode.
